Liturgies of Denmark

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Demark is a national church under constitution to which 90% of the population belong.

The main worship service consists of four parts:

  1. Introduction (with prelude, opening prayer, opening hymn, introductory greeting and introductory collect),
  2. Ministry of the Word (with reading from the Old Testament, hymn, reading from the New Testament, creed, hymn, gospel reading, sermon, prayer of the church and hymn),
  3. Communion (with eucharistic prayer, Lord’s Prayer, words of institution and communion),
  4. Dismissal (with closing prayer, blessing, closing hymn, final collect and postlude).
